Cross-Country (XC) Course

Proposed programme. This outline is not open for enrolment. Duration, price, dates, equipment, and instructor details will be published only after they are confirmed.

Overview

A proposed course for pilots who want to understand cross-country flying in the Pokhara region — route ideas, glides, and the discipline of an outlanding. It is an outline, not an open course. We do not state a required rating or a distance you will fly, because neither has been set.

Who it is for

Pilots who are already comfortable thermalling and want to think beyond the local site. Prerequisites have not been confirmed.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites have not been confirmed. They will be listed here before enrolment opens.

Proposed learning objectives

  • Plan a day using the forecast, the terrain, and a realistic personal limit.
  • Practise glide decisions and the choice of a landing field.
  • Fly with a plan that includes stopping, not only going further.

Proposed structure

  1. 01

    Planning

Maps, airspace awareness at an introductory level, and a route that can be shortened. Specific airspace rules will be taught from current information, not from this placeholder.

  2. 02

    On the hill

A briefing that can end in staying local. Leaving the ridge is a decision, not the default.

  3. 03

    The flight

Guided cross-country attempts when conditions suit the pilots present. Distance is not a target written into the outline.

  4. 04

    Retrieve and review

How the day is closed, including a landing away from the usual field if that happened, and what the flight actually showed.

Equipment

Equipment requirements have not been confirmed. The school will say what is provided and what students should bring before a programme begins.

Instructor

Instructor details will be added once a name and biography are confirmed. We do not publish credentials ahead of that.

Questions

Is this programme open for enrolment?

The Cross-Country Course is a proposed outline. It is not open for enrolment, and no dates are scheduled.

How long is it, and what does it cost?

Duration and price have not been confirmed. They will be shown on this page only after the school sets them. An enquiry does not reserve a place.

Will I finish with a licence or rating?

No outcome like that is promised. What you take away depends on the time you fly, the weather, and how the skills develop. We will not imply a qualification the school has not stated.
